Update on Community Eligibility Provision
“The Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) is a non-pricing meal service option for schools and school districts in low-income areas. CEP allows the nation’s highest poverty schools and districts to serve breakfast and lunch at no cost to all enrolled students without collecting household applications.” – USDA.gov
“Many schools in our surrounding area have qualified for this program. Clear Fork School District looked into this provision in April of 2024 and used the most current information on the students in our district who qualified for free/reduced meals via direct certification. Unfortunately, the district failed to meet the percentage requirements for this provision. The Ohio Department of Education explained that the district is just short of meeting those requirements. We will look at this program again in the spring of 2025.” – Jennifer Stallard, Food Service Director
